Saturday was not livelier. Saturday was just sad.
By the end of the day we still hadn’t made enough to pay for the table. Attendance seems to be down in a big way. I don’t see us coming back next year. We just can’t afford it. I did have fun being on a couple panels, one about comic book heroines and another about senseless violence. In the last five minutes of the senseless violence panel, I got asked out by an audience member. So yeah, that was odd. Or maybe just a hazard of being a girl at Philcon.
We chatted with a lot of people, and made some good connections. We met some con stars and some con trolls, the insanity that was the con suite, and the freezing wastes of the hyper air conditioned restrooms. And we live to tell the tale. We ran into Klingonologist and author Lawrence Schoen and his lovely wife Valerie again. They have a film crew in tow these days filming a reality show or some such about the daily life of a Klingonologist. Lawrence is pretty fun, and you can learn more about the man, myth and legend here.

OK...first, 5:36AM on a Sunday morning?!! That's sick.
Second, did you accept the brave boy's invitation?
Um, no, I had to run to catch my train. And I sort of panicked. I've been getting more attention in the past month than in the past several years, and its a little weird.
Maybe my perspective is wonky due to those four years pretty much living at a women's art college, . . . . :)
Oh, and um, now I've fixed the time zone settings. I made the comment at 7:36am. Alright, that's not really a lot better, is it.
